C.E.R.F. – Certified Eye Registration Foundation.  This non-profit Foundation started in San Francisco in 1975 with the purpose and function to register those purebred dogs which have been examined by a qualified Veterinary Opthalmologist, and certified by him/her to be “clear” of major hereditary defects on the date of examination, and whose owners seek to have such dogs certified.   Lawrence M. Trauner, M.D. was the President of the Foundation then, and all details about the organization were published in the OESLNC (Old English Sheepdog League of Northern California) October 1975 issue of its newsletter, Bob-Tales,  of which I was the editor.   The Foundation is apparently now located at C.E.R.F. Purdue University .  The first “jump” will take you to a site containing current detailed information, and the second “jump” takes you to the C.E.R.F. site at Purdue which is recognized by the AKC.
